China orders door-safety fixes in largest car recall
China ordered Tesla and eight other automakers to address hard-to-find manual door releases in a recall affecting more than four million vehicles. Tesla's portion covers about three million cars and also includes driver-monitoring concerns. Regulators said many fixes can arrive over the air, alongside warning labels and camera updates, according to five outlets.
Why it matters
The recall targets emergency-exit risks in electric vehicles and could influence door-handle rules beyond China.
