Google Maps adopts Lake America label for US users
Google Maps now displays “Lake America” instead of Lake Ontario to users in the United States after the US Geographic Names Information System changed the name. Users elsewhere see different labels. Apple Maps has not followed, though Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said President Donald Trump contacted Apple directly about making the change.
