Zillow and Redfin settle FTC antitrust case

Zillow and Redfin have settled a Federal Trade Commission antitrust case over their rental-listings partnership. The FTC alleged Zillow paid Redfin to syndicate listings while Redfin ended its own advertising contracts. Under the settlement described by TechCrunch, Redfin must re-enter the rental advertising business, ending the litigation over the 2025 arrangement.

Why it matters

The settlement restores competition in rental advertising and constrains how large property platforms cooperate.
