A wind-driven wildfire near Reno, Nevada, has forced tens of thousands of people from their homes, blanketed the city in smoke and closed schools, the BBC and France 24 reported. France 24 said about 24,000 people remained under evacuation orders on Monday night, down from more than 40,000 at the peak.
