The European Commission fined Google 890 million euros, roughly $1 billion, after finding the company breached the Digital Markets Act by favouring its own services in search rankings and imposing Play Store restrictions. It marked the first major DMA enforcement against Google, which becomes the third tech giant penalised. Google was given 60 days to comply.
