Amazon will train AI on Twitch content unless streamers opt out
Twitch said user-generated content may be used to improve Amazon's generative AI models, and added an opt-out toggle covering streams, videos, clips, chats and images. Twitch chief product officer Mike Minton said on a livestream that if the setting had been opt-in, nobody would have opted in.
Why it matters
Defaulting to opt-out puts the burden on creators, and sets terms other platforms holding large user archives may copy.
